MVV (Munich public transport)
On the day of the performance, you can use all ordinary admission tickets as public transport tickets from 3 pm – or, in the case of performances before 6 pm, from three hours before curtain rise – up to the end of the day’s public transport service. The tickets can be used on all forms of MVV public transport. This does not apply to admission tickets for performances by the Bayerische Theaterakademie (Bavarian Theatre Academy).
Numbering of seats
In the main venues, all seats (stalls, balcony and upper balconies) on the left-hand side of the hall have consecutive odd numbers and all spaces on the right-hand side of the hall have consecutive even numbers, i.e. seats numbered 102 and 104 are directly adjacent to each other. There are a few exceptions to this rule in the balcony seats of the Cuvilliéstheater.
You can choose to have your tickets posted to you, to pick them up from the box office during the day or evening or to use the “TicketDirekt” option (and print them out yourself). Please be aware that tickets can only sent by post 10 days (within Germany) and 14 days (to any other country) prior to the performance.
Personalization of tickets
This is necessary for “TicketDirekt” tickets and means you have to fill in a mask the name, surname and date of birth of the visitor. Please mind that only personalized tickets in combination with a valid ID will be accepted as tickets for the Munich Public Transport MVV.
Standing room, Listening-only seats and score-desk seats
Please be aware when booking seats that tickets marked »Stehpl.« are standing-room! Seats marked as »Hörer« i. e. »Part.« are seats with absolutely no view to the stage. Seats marked “Part” have a little lamp for the reading score.
Seats in the stalls are not separated by an aisle.
Due to the architecture of the Nationaltheater, surtitles cannot be seen from all seats. Here you find an overview of seats with a limited view or no view of the surtitles in the Nationaltheater.
